- Began playing tennis at age 6.
- Played at University of Illinois for 3 seasons (2005-07), winning the 2006 NCAA doubles title, reaching the 2007 NCAA singles semi-finals, doubles final and team final. Earned All-American honours all 3 years.
- Reached a career-high ranking of World No. 5 on July 16, 2018.
- Was finalist at the 2017 US Open and 2018 Wimbledon.
- Won six ATP Tour titles: Pune (2019), Vienna (2018), New York (2018), Winston-Salem (2015), Delray Beach (2012) and Johannesburg (2011).
- Founded RealLifeTennis.com with wife Kelsey and ex-coach GD Jones, offering tennis tips and access to life on tour.
- Raised more than $100,000 at inaugural Grand Slam Cause for the Paws in 2018, supporting dog rescue Dezzy's Second Chance Animal Rescue and Ocean Conservancy’s Trash Free Seas Alliance.

If you weren’t a tennis player, what would you like to be?Kevin: I probably would have become an athlete in another sport, but I would love to play guitar.
What or who made you want to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle?Kevin: My career as a tennis player and wanting to be the best athlete I can be made me want to lead as healthy a lifestyle as possible.

What is your position on the use of illegal or uncontrolled drugs in certain sports such as the fitness world?Kevin: These drugs are banned in tennis, so I stay away from them entirely.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Kevin: Being on time to the airport.
Who is your favorite sports hero?
Kevin: Pete Sampras.
What has been your best moment on a tennis court?
Kevin: Each time I’ve won a title on the ATP Tour has been a great moment for me, but others that stand out are playing in the US Open and Wimbledon finals against great champions of our sport (Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic). Both were incredible experiences and great moments.
What is your favorite song to listen to before a match or while working out?
Kevin: I don’t typically listen to music before going on court, but when I’m working out or playing guitar, I love the rock classics - Dire Straights, Creedance Clearwater Revival and Tom Petty.
If you had super powers, what would they be and what would your superhero name be?
Kevin: The ability to fly.
What is your guilty pleasure or favorite cheat meal?
Kevin: I keep a strict diet, but I do like dark chocolate every once in a while.
What is your most treasured possession?
Kevin: My wedding ring. During matches, I tie it into the shoelace of one of my shoes for safe keeping.
What is your greatest fear?
Kevin: A little afraid of heights.
What would be your perfect day?
Kevin: Relaxing at home with my wife and dog (she’s a rescued Chihuahua-Dachshund mix named Lady Kady), going to the beach for a little bit and playing some guitar.
What quality do you like most in other people?
Kevin: Loyalty and work ethic.
Where is the best place you’ve been?
Kevin: New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve been to, but I also love being back home in Johannesburg.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you have given yourself when your career started?Kevin: Be patient and know the hard work will pay off.
WHY ATP LAB?Kevin: I became a fan of the products when my physiotherapist and I were looking into new supplements for my daily use and on match days. I really like to know the science behind what I’m putting into my body and I think ATP Lab has a lot of knowledge and research they put into their products. As a professional athlete, I really appreciate and respect that.
In a few words, what advice would you give to fans who seek a healthy lifestyle?Kevin: Everybody is different and everyone’s life have different needs so be willing to try new things to find what works for you.
