ABOUT THE ATHLETE
Kate Bartolo is a 26-year-old full-time executive assistant and a Pro Bikini competitor. She traveled interstate and overseas to compete on a Pro level. She loves meeting new people at competitions and inspiring anyone she can along the way.
WHAT IS THE ONE WORD THAT DESCRIBES YOU BEST?
WHAT IS YOUR TOP-3 FAVORITE ATP LAB SUPPLEMENT PRODUCTS?
When did you start your career as a trainer and professional athlete?
Kate: I started seriously training back in 2016, I then decided to try competing in a natural federation in the bikini division and took out first in all my divisions and overall for the day. I then made my way to more competitions growing my success even more.
If you could choose another career or sport what would it be?
Kate: I have always wanted to be good at gymnastics, it looks like so much fun!
WHAT OR WHO MADE YOU WANT TO PURSUE AN ACTIVE AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE?
Kate: I was sick of always feeling tired and I wanted to grow muscle mass as I am a petite person. I love the never-ending journey of growing and fuelling my body.
WHEN IT COMES TO OUR PROTEIN SUPPLEMENT FLAVOURS, WHICH ONE DO YOU PREFER?
Vanilla, Chocolate, Raspberry or Salted Caramel?
Kate: That is a hard question because they are all great flavors! But I will stick with vanilla as I love to add different ingredients to it.
WHAT IS YOUR POSITION ON THE USE OF ILLEGAL OR UNCONTROLLED DRUGS IN CERTAIN SPORTS SUCH AS THE FITNESS WORLD?
Kate: I am all about fuelling the body the natural way. I love the hard work I put into my diet and my body and I only have myself to thank for that. Competing in a natural federation means that it is a fair opportunity for all competitors to exhibit their hard work.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Kate: I wish I could push through the pain at the gym whilst training and push for that extra rep.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS HERO?
Kate: My sports hero is honestly my partner Josh, he inspires me every day with the amount of hard work he puts in at the gym.
WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT COMPETING?
Kate: The best part about competing is friendship. I have made so many friends along the way and I enjoy hearing about their journey. I have also been able to travel to different countries to represent Australia which means a lot to me.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG TO LISTEN PRIOR TO COMPETING?
Kate: Anything by Pink Floyd or Linkin Park.
IF YOU HAD SUPERPOWERS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHAT WOULD BE YOUR SUPERHERO NAME?
Kate: I wish my superpower was that I never get lactic acid and my superhero name would be: Anti-Lacti.
WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE OR FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
Kate: I do love gluten-free potato chips!
WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH GOALS FOR THIS YEAR?
Kate: My personal health goal for this year is to work on my gut health using natural medicine.
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT WOMEN ARE WELL REPRESENTED IN THE SPORTS AND FITNESS INDUSTRIES?
Kate: Everyone I look up to in the fitness industry is a woman, there are so many strong amazing women in this industry it makes me feel empowered.
What did you think of your international competition experience in Canada and what is your next destination?
Kate: I absolutely loved competing in Canada at UFE. It is one of my favorite destinations to compete at. Everyone is so friendly.
How would you describe the Australian fitness scene and how is it different from the states?
Kate: The Australian fitness scene is definitely high level. Everyone in Australia has a more care-free laidback personality.
WHY ATP LAB?

IN A FEW WORDS, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO FANS WHO SEEK A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE?
Kate: Start off small and don’t ignore your small successes. Be proud of everything you achieve and understand that it is a journey and not a race.
